Here's a little bit of humor from columnist Leonard Pitts that appeared in today's Chicago Tribune.

So this president and this football player meet in a bar ...

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Everybody!

Thanks to y'all who came out to the show at 602 on Sunday night. Much indebted to your kind hearts for braving the night and sharing the lusty fog machine juice with us. But we at Kampfwagen KOS are very much non-indebted to the club itself. I don't want to stoke old flames so I won't, at least not here on this site, but let me just say I learned yet another lesson why drummers make bad bookers (no offense, King Rape; you're an exception to the rule). Many thanks to Janelle and Mel for getting us liquored at the afta-partay, and many, many thanks to Mel, Mauni, Michael, and Amy for helping to recover my hit. And thanks to Marc for letting me hump his leg like a tired porch dog.

In the near future I hope to post a diatribe railing against the sodpiss-poor state of affairs in your local multiplex. In the meantime, I urge y'all to boycott Levi Stauss, as executive management recently decided to shift all of their remaining U.S. manufacturing jobs-- roughly 11,000 positions-- to plants overseas. And this at a time where over 2 million manufacturing jobs have been lost in the United States since the recession began in 2000. Guess we'll all be working at Applebee's soon enough.

Whole-ly-shit! Anybody see the yesterdayís Chicago Tribune, the front page article on the return of Rush Limbaugh? Jeeessus.. Hereís a little stanzaÖ

Several conservative supporters of Limbaugh, including Brian Kennedy, president of the Claremont Institute, a think tank that is honoring Limbaugh with its Statesmanship Award on Friday, have argued that seeking refuge from pain is different from using drugs recreationally.

ìI believe people can see a difference between alleviating pain and someone using drugs or alcohol to alleviate the pain of life, as it were,î Kennedy said.

This is a first. Hereís some American Justice in action for you. Rush Limbaugh should not be persecuted for his drug use because he was using drugs to alleviate some bodily pain. And all of you recreational drug users, even the ones who can hold a job and pay rent and take drugs because it GETS YOU HIGH, you are all going to jail.

Who gets to make this distinction? Evidently, conservative think tanks will. But if you get arrested on a drug charge, tell them it made your back feel better. Iím sure theyíll let you go free and get to rehab.

Letís do some math. Rush has reportedly purchased 4350 pills in a 47 day period. That works out to roughly 92 pills a day. Give me a break. That is some serious pain, man. Almost seemsÖ. Recreational.

Whatís so hard about this? Rush Limbaugh likes to get high. In the interest of ìinfinite justiceî that Limbaugh likes to preach, letís send this dirtbag to a pound-you-in-the-ass penitentiary.

Here's how NOT to win the hearts and minds of a people you are occupying: name your latest counterinsurgency efforts after a NAZI OPERATION!

Kind of puts those persistent Bush-Nazi connections in a different light, doesn't it?

Don't tell me they couldn't have done a little fact checking before running this one up the flagpole. There are hundreds of other nouns they could have used with the "IRON" modifier. Why not OPERATION: EISENMENSCH (IRON MAN)? Or, more appropriately, OPERATION: EISENSCHEISS (IRON SHIT)? Or how about OPERATION: IRON HORSE? I'm sure Lemmy would take some perverse satisfaction in that. IRON SHEIK?

One thing's for sure: them Eye-Rakkies ain't gonna be our friends any time soon.

Republicans are a bunch of whiny, pink, snivelling BITCHES.

If you've tuned into CSPAN any time in the last two days, you have seen an unprecedented 30-plus-hour talk-a-thon staged by Senate Republicans over 4 Bush-appointed judges that Democrats refused to nominate to the bench.

That's 4 judges out of 168 that Democrats have already approved--an overall approval rate of 98%. Compare that to the judicial nominations that were blocked by Republicans under Clinton...it doesn't even come close! Some of those appointees were held up in committee, and never went to the floor for a vote.

It's especially pathetic that there are other important issues that need to be resolved before the current congressional session concludes--health care, veterans benefits, to name just two--yet the Republicans have to throw an apoplectic tantrum because they can't get everything they want.

Well, boo-fuckin-hoo. They control all three branches of government right now, and they still act as though they're the besieged minority party. Wasn't categorically outlawing an abortion procedure enough of a football-spiking endzone celebration for you assholes? It's apparent they won't be satisfied until the US is a single-party dictatorship like Iraq, North Korea and China, and other axis of evil nations who are supposedly our enemies.

Keep it up, guys. The more you make a fuss, the more people will realize you care more about your stupid ideology than actually solving some problems. I for one am glad that the Democrats aren't the political equivalent of the Washington Generals this time, as they have been on so many other issues.

That's why I nominate all 51 Senate Republicans for this week's Fuck You in the Face Award. That's an awful lot of fuck to deliver on such short notice, but these brats deserve every last drop!

Hey, a gig for this Sunday added. If you need details contact us. I'm not even sure I have them all correct, but I heard an ad for it on the radio today so I figured someone had better post the info.

First they came for the Communists,
and I didnít speak up,
because I wasnít a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didnít speak up,
because I wasnít a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didnít speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.

Take a good look, Amerika...this is your future under USA PATRIOT/War on Terror/War on Drugs.

The raid at Goose Creek was just a dry run for the future police state. USA PATRIOT will affect us all...it's no longer just for the "bad guys" like Branch Davidians, swarthy-looking males or non-Christians! Homeland Security resources were recently used to spy on the maverick Texas Democrats who fled the Senate during their redistricting donnybrook...who among us does not believe that the executive branch's expanded police powers won't be turned upon its perceived enemies in this era of preemptive wars and rule by presidential fiat? USA PATRIOT is COINTELPRO by any other name...it views its own citizens as the enemies.

What are we going to do about this?

Well, it seems that the Republican power base in this country has been powerful enough for CBS to pull the showing of the Ronald Reagan miniseries. The prevailing wisdom on this one is that there are several fictionalized moments in the miniseries that did not occur, and therefore this may tarnish Reagan's image to the public. I did some research on the scenes in question, and let me tell you, I wholeheartedly agree with CBS decision. Among the disputed scenes are:

1. Reagan tells the head of the NAACP to "get raped."
2. When Reagan is given a report about the spread of the AIDS virus, he replies "serves those butt bandits right. Tell Satan I said hello, assclowns!"
3. In a scene where Reagan's advisors begin to suspect he is going senile, he is found nude in a bathtub full of milk with a banana in his butt.
4. When the presidential pet accidentally doodles on the rug, Reagan beats it with a sock full of quarters.

And these are just a few examples. Talk about some irresponsible filmmaking! The right wing in this country is sending America a message: YOU ARE TOO DUMB TO FIGURE OUT THAT THIS IS A MINISERIES. I wouldn't be surprised if they start running a ticker at the bottom of 'the West Wing' indicating that it is a show about the government and meant for entertainment purposes only. Sheesh, this shit is getting out of control. (Not that I would have watched the show anyway, but I suppose TV junkies will find something to get agitated about here. Few other things seem to get the populace excited these days.)

"Ronnie Reagan, he's my man,
If he can't do it, NOBODY CAN!
AMERICA RULES!"
