just an interesting note:
it was nine years ago today that lapd chased o.j. simpson and his buddy al cowlings along the california freeway system in his white ford bronco.
i remember it vividly, and thinking to myself, "holy smokes! o.j. is gonna die tonight!"
well, he didn't, and now here we are.
suffer!

Uh oh. SARS Ulrich is pissed about the use of his band's music to force information from captured soldiers in Iraqistan/al-Qaidastan.
Said Lars: "I feel horrible about this. No one in Iraq has ever done anything to hurt me and I don't understand why we have to be implicated in that bulls***."
I know...I had the same feeling listening to the advance tracks to "St. Anger" on the radio last week--it made me want to invert a large metal bucket over my head, beat it repeatedly with a steel mallet and confess to having bought the Black Album. What the hell did I ever do to you to deserve such a musical kick in the balls, Lars?
I'm sure he's just pissed that his lawyers told him he couldn't sue the military for recovery of lost royalties from the unauthorized use of MetallicaÆ songs in any way, shape or form, without the express written consent, etc. Just let it go, man, let it go...

we have returned back to chicago from our 2003 shock and awe tour of the dirty souf with bible of the devil, safe and sound (unbelieveably). hours upon hours were spend rockin' and rollin', driving and, of course, engaging in bad behavior.
one of the great things about hitting the road is meeting all sorts of people you would never meet before. there are also those few very special people who are willing to go above and beyond to help the band in need of finding a place to spend the night. it helps give me some faith in humanity. we are eternally endebtted to all of those who were able to help us in that regard.
so, an appreciative shout out goes to the following:
king rape's aunt and uncle in akron, richmond randy of the deviltones, dale in chapel hill, judd (x2), phil, steve and joe in savannah, big dog in pensecola, "hawg" walker in mobile, brooke in new orleans (for two nights of putting up with our drunk asses), all of the filthy jim crew in lawrence, residents of "temptation trailer park" in little rock, and of course, the hateful dead dudes down in carbondale.
we would have never made it without any of you. you all rock, and don't let anybody tell you differently!
